Paris once had a network of trams covering over 1100 kilometres in the 1920s, but the last tram in Paris ran in 1938 and the last one in Île-de-France ran in Versaille in 1957.
Trams only returned to Paris some 25 years ago. But over recent years, a large network has been developped which is still expanding! ___ Line 3 | Linie 3 | T3 The tramline in "Paris proper" is line T3, now T3a and T3b, running along the southern part of the city. The first section opened on the 16th December 2006 between Porte d'Ivry and Pont du Garigliano. Since then, it has been subsantially extended now encircling most of Paris around the Boulevards des Maréchaux ("Boulevards of the Marshalls"). Together, T3a and T3b are 26.7km long, have 51 stops, and 63 trams (Alstom Citadis 402). See my photos of the line T3 (=T3a) from the earlier years of operation. I try to add more information and more photos when I find the time... | Page en préparation | Seite ist noch im Aufbau. Da kommt noch mehr... Further links |
