The so-called "Rashi Chapel" is situated next to the synagoge. It is not the place where the famous Rashi himself went to the Talmud school in the 11th century or where he taught, as this "chapel" was only constructed in the 17th century.

RASCHI is an acronym for Shlomo Yitzchaki, רבי שלמה יצחקי; Salomon de Troyes, 22nd Feb. 1040 to 13th July 1105.
