Vaccarès (1986 - 2006) Camargue horse - born in 1986 in the Camargue. In September 1995, I took him from Southern France to Britain. After a short stay in Kent, we spent most of the time in Letchworth Garden City (Herts.), which was excellent for horse riding. Subsequently we moved to Hampton Poyle in Oxfordshire. In April 2000, I took him back to the Camargue, to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, while I was having a postdoc scholarship at the CNRS in Montpellier/Lattes. Then, we moved to Germany, first to my home city, Worms, an excellent place for horse riding, thanks to lot of open countryside, and finally to Osnabrück in Lower Saxony in February 2005.Unfortunately he died on 1st December 2006 due to melanoma and I still miss him today.
Agility Joy Discjockey ("D.J.") (2006-2022) D.J. is a beautiful Border Collie, born 2006, 100% pedigree, excelling in Agility and other canine sports. And as an academic dog, he is accompanying me to university and to my lectures; he's got a better attendance record than many/any of my students! For many of our students (and colleagues!), he is really a therapy dog...
Kiba Kiba - Border Collie - just so cute and cuddly...
D.J. exploring archaeological sites in Pembrokeshire National Park in 2013.
