Many Celtic names for female deities are attested in ancient inscriptions, like Epona, Brigantia, Belisama, Nantosuelta, Regina, Rosmerta, Sulis, Sulevia, Thirona and many more. In addition, we also have also countless iconographic representations of female deities (with and without associated inscription), and we have a number of Roman names (e.g., Juno Regina, Maia, Minerva, Leto, etc.) that might actually cover local goddesses. Both in terms of language and iconography, we see forms of hybridisations, bricolage and creolage, whereby a goddess's representation takes up elements from different religious understandings and visual languages.
