Until 31st July 2019, I was senior lecturer (Associate Professor) in Roman History and Archaeology in Lampeter (UWTSD). I have been teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, on-campus and distance learners, in a wide range of subjects, combining ancient history and archaeology with theoretical, sociological and anthropological approaches. Topics include Roman history, Roman Britain, Exploring Sustainability, Ancient Celtic Civilisations, Ancient Religions, Religious Life in the Roman Provinces, Advanced Latin, Introducing Archaeology, What makes civilisation?, Regional History, Archaeology, Heritage, Theory & Methodology for the Study of Ancient Religions, and many more.
I have also been programme director, notably for the MA Ancient Religions, turning it into a truly multi-disciplinary programme. In 2014 I organised two three-day conferences in Lampeter, on Sacred Landscapes (May 2014) and Romano-Celtic religion(s) (October 2014), followed by a one-day session on Near Eastern Sacred Landscapes (Jan 2016) and a three-day conference on Re-thinking Globalisation in the Ancient World (2018). I've also been responsible for organising the Classics Research Seminars, the lecture series of the Lampeter and West Wales Branch of the Classical Association, as well as the Classics Summer School on Lepontic and Venetic languages in N Italy. Since 2019, I am self-employed. Please click on these two links that will lead you to my business site! Service available in English, French and German.
